My Experience
I graduated with an MA in Mental Health Counseling in 2013 from the University of Northern Iowa. I volunteered in two Substance Abuse & Recovery centers for a year, and then worked at a Community College for 6+ years with a diverse population. I work with adults who are willing to explore and work toward change; cultivating a better life, defined by them. I bring a lifetime of experience in various areas from business to professional organizing, which ultimately led to my love of counseling and the mental health field.
About Me
Clients have told me that I have a natural ability to connect with them, even when we meet for the first time. I use compassion, clarity, an open self-reflective attitude and strive to empower you to make changes and grow. I hold a commitment to help you experience life the way you want to.
Working With Me
Start with a free 10-15 minute phone consultation. Beginning therapy and finding the right therapist can be daunting and/or you might be in a place of overwhelm. I’m happy to answer any questions you have, with honesty.
In therapy, we discuss your current life situation, including physical health, habits, sleep patterns and your collective life experiences. Together, we agree on a plan and continue to evaluate that plan & your progress throughout our counseling relationship. You are the expert of your life - you have value and do not have to earn it. The goal of all therapy is to work toward that place where you feel, “I’ve got this!”
